Things To Do In Devon

There is a lot to do in Devon, particularly when you are staying in a caravan park near the ocean. Surfing has always been popular and Devon is a great choice for many surfers and quite a large surf culture has grown in the area. If you think surfing looks a bit too much like hard work, then you can always hire or buy a boogie board and enjoy the surf with a bit less effort. As ever though, always make sure that you are capable of looking after yourself in the see, or even better, make sure you have a buddy, and if ever in doubt, talk to the local surfers and ask them about any rips to avoid.

Among the other things that you can do apart from swimming and generally having a great time in the blue sea is fishing. It's not everyone's cup of tea, and you might want to take the kids crabbing instead which is a lot less hassle, all you need is a line which is very cheap, and a bit of bait - ask a local what bait works in the area. If you do fancy fishing though, again have a chat with the staff in the local angling shop and maybe they can give you some tips - you may end up with a few bream for the pot back at your caravan.

Places To Visit In Devon - Torquay

There are many places to visit in Devon, Torquay being one of them. It has the nickname the English Riviere due to it's gorgeous climate. It is quite a full on tourist destination which although meaning that it sometimes gets very crowded, it also means that it is fully equipped for visiting tourists. There is plenty of accommodation in Torquay, including hotels and bed and breakfasts.

Entertainment is aplenty during the high season, and there are a good many quality restaurants, but if you are on a budget there are plenty of cheaper options to suit as well. If you are looking for a caravan or campsite, there are also plenty of them nearby.

Torquay Accomodation

If you are looking to save money, then you could try a Torquay Caravan Holiday Park, there are several in the area, as well as standard caravan parks that cater for camping as well without the entertainment laid on.

If you are looking for something a bit more 'indoorsy' then I suggest you check out one of the many hotels online, or check out a bed and breakfast list.

If anyone fancies Devon, then I can heartily recommend Lynton and Lynmouth, lovely area around there, and Valley of the Rocks is a stunning natural phenomenon. If you want a more urban sort of holiday, then Torquay also has its charms and attractions. I've had a ton of good holidays in Devon, and hope to have many more!
